of All India Radio with the launching of regional news bulletins in Hindi and English,

Mithi government that brought the matter to the state cabinet and accordingly, the
Chief Minister Mithi had taken up the matter with the Centre, which took seven long
years to materialize a ‘dream’ for the people of this land-

“I will look into all the issues concerning adhoc employees and take up the matter with the government of India. I will try my utmost to consider their cases within the framework of Prasar Bharati rules,” Shivakumar added.

Describing the launch of daily news bulletins as a historic moment for AIR, he felt that the launching should have been made long way back, considering the importance of the role AIR plays in disseminating information to more than 90 percent of population across the country.
The DG (News) opined the onus is now on the state to make the ‘historic’ beginning a long lasting success. “Eighty percent of the bulletins will be covered by news of Arunachal Pradesh. Therefore, it is the people of the state to have a huge responsibility to make the mission successful.”

Khandu calls for clean Arunachal
TAWANG, August 27: “The onus in keeping the state clean should be shouldered by every individual so that we offer a clean and hygienic Arunachal Pradesh to the visiting tourists and guests”, emphasized Khandu while interacting with the district officers and prominent public leaders at DC’s office here this morning.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu is on whirlwind tour of Tawang District from August 26 last.
The chief minister was very satisfied with the measures initiated by the district administration in keeping the district clean, and advised Tawang DC to maintain the rhythm. He also emphasized for enthusing work culture amongst the government employees so that quality work could be realized.
He appealed the local people to preserve the forest and promote afforestation programmes in the district in order to compensate the lost forest which had been a great concern for the government in the recent past.
Later, Khandu delivered a special message for the people of Tawang district through All India Radio, Tawang. He dwelt in length the steps initiated by his government particularly the welfare measures that would ease out the lives of people of the state.
Earlier, Khandu visited the famous Gaden Namgyal Lhatse Monastery also widely known as Tawang monastery which is one of the largest Buddhist Monastery in Asia. He offered prayers in the monastery as it was the final day of “Dunpa Zigyar Kyingkor” (Mandala) preparation after which seven days mantra chanting would be performed for the betterment of the society, prevalence of peace and humanity on the earth.
One of senior monk described the mandala as a step for attaining salvation from ones life, paving way for eternal peace and nirvana. He described that every person have Buddha in him/ her, to find it one should be truthful and go for meditation.
The chief minister made a survey of the newly under construction library building in the premises of the monastery. He stressed for keeping all sorts of knowledgeable, informative and sacred books in the library so that the students get the optimum benefit. While discussing with the senior monks on preservation of the antique monument, Khandu referring to the old library building opined for renovation of the monument without disturbing its antiquity.

AAPSU seeks governor’s intervention on ‘unethical act’

The situation in these two districts have once again been aggravated and has became fragile and confusing in run up to the state assembly election, the union said in a release, and urge the Arunachal Pradesh Governor to immediately gauge the situation and invoke Article 371(H) as per the power conferred on him for smooth conduct of the elections.

NCP concerned over circulation of fake currency

Itanagar, Aug 27: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has expressed concern over the large number of fake currency notes being circulated in the state capital allegedly by various contesting candidates to woo voters.
NCP General Secretary Techi Necha, during a press conference here this afternoon, alleged that the candidates from various political parties, contesting for the prestigious Itanagar constituency, were circulating fake notes in the capital cities, thereby victimising the innocent voters.
''Many candidates are pumping in crores of rupees to allure voters and in the process many duplicate notes are being circulated in the market through them,'' Necha alleged and urged the authorities concerned to put a check on such undemocratic means to woo voters.
He said, many candidates were paying several thousands to each voter on production of election photo identity card.
''This is not the true spirit of democracy and such practice would jeopardise the electoral politics,'' he commented and cautioned the electorate not to fall prey to such political gimmicks.

The programme was organized by the Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC) and Building Materials Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC), New Delhi in association with the SFRI.
Addressing the participants on the valedictory function, CBTC director Kamesh Salam said the community members must come out to set an example in construction of bamboo house. Today, the whole world is looking at bamboo technology in housing sector for its environment friendly ways, he said adding at least we should make a beginning to reap the benefit of the use of bamboo in various sectors.

Alternative to shifting cultivation, need of the hour
KHONSA, Aug 27: A workshop on alternative to shifting cultivation was held at Bera village about 30 Km from here under the aegis of Elite Society of Dadam Area in collaboration with Agriculture and allied departments on August 26.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Tirap district Deputy Commissioner, Ankur Garg while appreciating the effort of the Elite Society asked the farmers to take up alternative activities like horticulture, piggery, poultry besides others adding that jhum cultivation was destructive and unproductive.
He said that jhum cultivation has disastrous effects on environment and denudes the soil. The DC further appealed to the people not to be dependent on the MLAs and government subsidies for their existence and asked them to create permanent assets for themselves.
He also asked them not to be dependent on PDS alone but work hard to produce sufficient food grains by adopting alternative mode of cultivation to jhum like terrace cultivation.
The DC was full of praise for chief of Bera village, Bewang Lowang for his pioneering effort in terrace cultivation and asked the farmers to emulate his example.
The DC further said that NABARD functionaries were likely to visit Khonsa sometime at the end of this month and assured the society that he would impress upon the NABARDS authorities to award schemes to the Society.

ITANAGAR Aug 27: The Apatani Career Guidance Forum (ACGF) congratulated Er Kuru Sera on his promotion to Chief Engineer, PWD (Central Zone).
Er. Sera, who belongs to Reru village, Ziro, joined the State Public Works Department in the year 1984 as Asstt. Engineer (AE) after completing B.E from Delhi College of Engineering.
His sincerity, efficiency and sheer dedication to work has earned him his promotion to Executive Engineer (EE) in 1988 within a short span of four years and next as Superintending Engineer (SE) in 1994 within a period of six years.
Being the senior most and one of the longest serving SE, his promotion to the top post of Chief Engineer is very much deserved.

EPGA observes 3rd foundation day
ITANAGAR Aug 27: The 3rd Foundation Day of the Environment Protection Group of Arunachal (EPGA) was celebrated at Pakam Middle School,Aalo on August 26 last.
ITBPF Commandant, N Chandra and ITBPF 2nd Commandant N.Saukand attended the function as chief guest and guest of honour. Both the dignitaries along with school children planted trees in the school premises.

NABARD reviewed the Tribal Development Funding Project at Roing
ITANAGAR Aug 27: NABARD Manager, K Vaiphei had a detailed meeting with the Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (PMIC) under Tribal Development Fund at Roing, Lower Dibang Valley District on August 25 last.
The farmers covered under the project expect a production of 3 lakh pineapples by October 2009. Vaiphei has advised the PMIC to spell out a concrete strategy for marketing of the pineapples during the period of glut.
He also underscored the need for handholding the tribal farmers for agronomic practices and appropriate measures from pests and diseases attack. It may be added that 427 tribal farm families are being covered under the project so far. The Department of Horticulture and KVK, Roing is giving the technical support for the programme.
ITANAGAR, Aug 27: A three days Capacity Building Workshop for Medical and Paramedical staff of Karuna Trust began yesterday at Vivekanada Hall, R. K Mission Hospital, Itanagar.
The program is being organized by Karuna Trust and sponsored by Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai to improve the technical skills and update the recent guidelines of health sector as well to motivate the PHC staff working in the most remote areas of the state.
Altogether 44 staff including 8 Medical Officers, 5 GNMs, 20 ANMs, 3 Laboratory technicians, 1 Pharmacist and 7 Health Assistant from 9 PHCs participated in the program.
Inaugurating the program, National Rural Health Mission Mission Director, Talem Tapok urged the staff of Karuna Trust to put their cent percent effort to change the health scenario of Arunachal Pradesh.
He also appreciated the changes brought out by the staff in these remote Primary Health Centers including increase in child immunization and institutional delivery which are the main target of NRHM at national level.
District Tuberculosis Officer, Papum Pare Dr. P.D.Thongchi highlighted about the various measures taken in PHC and Sub centre level to control and eradicate tuberculosis.

However, we the women in Arunachal Pradesh have certain specific grievances, the memorandum said and sought the immediate intervention of the APCC president for 1/3 (one third) reservation for women candidates in the upcoming State Assembly Election. It is a matter of great regret that there not a single women legislator in the 60 member Legislative Assembly, it said.
Demanding 33 per cent reservation in Urban Body election, the memorandum said first Municipal Corporation election is round the corner, we expect to play a meaningful role in the urban civic bodies as the subject matter concerns issues of Health and Sanitation.

Other important demand of the women organizations include Gender Advisor to the State Government, a Woman Development Corporation specifically to look after the economic development and entrepreneurial growth of the women. The most interesting part of this book is the study of present status of these institutions in Padam villages and explanation to the changes. What the book highlights is a change in continuity in many villages in spite of the fact that boys and girls embraced formal system of education. The other important area of focus is the status of these institutions in the light of development interventions.

He has distinguished Musup and Raseng from the English equivalent dormitory which are the cultural hubs of the Adi society. The term dormitory does not reflect the cultural emotion of the people, which Musup and Raseng do. How his speeches impacted us then! Every one had a feeling that, at last a true leader has emerged, who knows the way, will go the way and show us the true way too. But it too was all air and sound, alike every other leaders. May be that was the greatness of the scriptwriter that made us feel that way then.
Today, when we look back, we get a feeling that how naive we had been then. We were taken for a ride with sugarcoated speeches that has no meaning unless heart works in sync with the speeches made. That's a history and a real mystery too, which every Arunachalee should ponder upon. Well ! Not every field is green every time. Seeing the present political scenario of the BJP at Center, it's not green at all. Rijiju proclaimed himself as the Man of People (MP) though no longer a Member of Parliament(MP) after the parliamentary election result were out. Was it not his duty to at least ask or place his view before the people of Arunachal Pradesh regarding his search for greener pasture? He has every right to join any party, but having proclaimed himself as the Man of People (MP) of Arunachal Pradesh, his action are really not justified. He has been a favourite child of media; he could have easily expressed his desire through it. Nobody would have objected it, rather would have appreciated it. But things happened the other way round.

Politics a 3rd class game
Madam,
It is said that politics is a 3rd class game played by 4th class people regardless of it's level i.e. international, national, state, panchayat or be that at any kind of official level. And one had to humbly submit that it is an universal truth.
To talk about Arunachal politics, it seems and sounds to be a kid's play. The so
called `Dal-
Interestingly, these are the persons whom we vote and elect to represents and raise our voices in Parliament/state assembly and hope that they will make policies for the greater interest of public and not just for their political gain or personal benefit.
I still remember each and every single word of Kiren Rijiju talking to the people of Bam village during last parliamentary election campaign. I can recall how promising and convincing were all those sweet words full of energy, confident and the most irony of those were how miraculously it were delivered. Those were the words which won the heart of almost every youth as well as older citizens also regardless of their political affiliations. I must say, many people had a kind of thought that finally they have found their much awaited leader in the form of Kiren Rijiju (no matter which ever political party he may be affiliated) who will bring revolution in the era of Arunachal politics. His slogan of new change was much appreciated by everybody and all of sudden he became our ultimate choice by his quality and not by virtue of his political party. But to our disappoint it all went in vein, everything seems to be vanished in thin air.
It is not the matter of quitting/joining any party which hurt the dozens of people. Infact, personality like him requires no any party background/identity at all. But his recent move has really hurt many lovers and well wishers including myself. It implies that he is no indifferent of those same politicians the people of Arunachal is witnessing from decades. It implies that our young, talented and beloved leader can also go cunning at any time and you cannot fully rely on him. It really matters when a much trusted person hurt your feelings that too when you have lots of expectations on him/her.
Through this esteemed daily this is a small attempt to let him know that we are very much hurt.
Anyway I wish him all the success in his life.

Loyalty shift flu
Madam,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to express the feelings of all educated intellectuals and likeminded citizens like me regarding the loyalty shift of K. Rijiju. It was a jolt to know that K. Rijiju once loved and respected for his hard work, sincerity and commitment towards Arunachal Pradesh is now the talk of the town for hurting the sentiments of his own people. Arunachal was in a stage of chaos that swine flu and its virus might grip into Arunachal but the flu virus was forgotten when the headline of the front page of all the dailies of the state flashed the news that loyalty shift flu has gripped Rijiju.
It was not any party that gave him love and support but his hard work and ideology
with the slogan for changing Arunachal from the present status. If he has joined
the same party from whom he wanted to change Arunachal then where is his ideology?
Oh!! Sorry I forgot it has been gripped by some dangerous flu. If he had to join
the party then why did he play with the sentiments of all his well wishers. In the
recently concluded Lok Sabha election he lost just marginally but he had won the
respect and heart of all. He would have fulfilled his dream of changing Arunachal
if he was playing the role of a good opposition and checking the ‘Kush-
By shifting loyalty it is clear that ideology has no role to play in Arunachal politics, as we all know what the top priority of our politicians is.
How can he be loyal to Arunachal when he himself ditched the loyalty of the Party which gave him the platform to show his caliber and made him popular.
Through this column I would like to express that by hurting the sentiments of all
his well wishers he has done a blunder mistake as now the respect and love for him
is also a big Question mark. Never play with the emotions and dream of we Arunachalee
and a lastly it is a humble request to Rijiju that never show us a wage dream again
for changing Arunachal to number 1 state. Live us to our own KUSHI -

‘My role and dream remains the same’
Madam,
I’m obliged to share the agony of the thousands of people across Arunachal Pradesh and the unprecedented enormous political palpitation caused due to my resignation from BJP.
I’m aware that thousands of youths look up to me, intellectuals keep faith on me and the villagers lay hope on me and apparently it has been shattered. I sincerely tender my deep sense of apology for causing such a political quiver but with a plea to understand my feelings and reasons to leave BJP.
Remember my expressive statements in the past that I’m not in politics to serve a political party but to serve the society through a political party. Parties in themselves are nothing as it is made good or bad by the people who run them. My principle remains that shifting Party loyalty should be avoided except on genuine case. I promise that this political move will benefit our state and I’ll prove my effort doesn’t go in vain. My dream will remain but a LONELY DREAM can’t be realized without people’s support. I had tried to give my best through BJP and intended to continue but the circumstances compelled me to quit the Party but I will never let the people down while in Congress. I’m contented to the extent that now Arunachal Pradesh is in big National delineation and attracted the attention of our national leaders and media. Currently BJP central leaderships have failed to understand the sentiments of Arunachal Pradesh and INC lead UPA govt. has shown it’s generosity to us. Most of the concerns which I had raised in the Parliament and in National forums are accorded priorities and Arunachal can be the No.1 state in India if these packages and policies are implemented sincerely in the state. We need a genuinely sincere and good team.
On the unfortunate comment of BJP NE in-
I will support in every possible way to the State Govt. so that it can govern without any prejudice or bias attitude towards any section of the society. My political position has changed but my role and dream remains the same.
